We have several bills that are being discussed to provide releif for all of us stuck in the Green Card process. We have very few dedicated volunteers working very hard and knocking the doors of representatives across the country seeking support for our bills. We need to lobby hard to get releif for all of us in this election year and lobbying is not cheap. We need dollars to keep up our lobbying efforts. We need help with raising dollars that are needed to keep working for our cause. We do not have Star Players and/or Star Athletes raising funds to support our cause. We need to do it ourselves. We all need to come together as a dedicated team with a mission to raise the targeted dollar amount. Can we do it?. Can we all step up and raise the dollars we need for our cause?.

Congratulation to 9years and Vayumahesh. Thank you both for documenting your journey. My EB2 perm was applied from the new company i have joined and it is approved this month. Hopefully i should be applying for I-140 next month.
I have applied my 485 in July 07 but i was not married at that time. I am married now and my my wife is on H1B. When should i add her or amend my I-485.

When you become current and before you get your GC approval notice, you should file 485 for your wife.

What is wrong with bonded to 1 job type ? You file AC21 but job type should be similar. You cannot become a company's Vice president if your labor was for Programmer, why are you picking on things ? The guy sitting next to my cubicle is here more than 7 years, he's waiting for his 140, he's stuck with my employer while he wants to move since he has a 3 years degree than a masters, He was considered a EB-3 I. Don't you think he wants to know how many decades it will take for his dates to get current ?

I'm not saying a person on H1B necessarily should be allowed to apply for 485. All that I'm saying is the day when a person starts working on H, the PD becomes his/her's. Lets take an example.
1). A person start working on H1B from Apr'1998
2). In apr'2004 Employer "n" applies for Labor to permemently employ the alien. In that case the PD for the alien becomes ar'2004 correct?
3). instead I want th PD to be Apr'1998.
This gives the person the flexibility to move on to better prospects as a H1B, but at the same time preserves the PD. Ofcource the LC process needs to be restarted again each time he moves. Also one might choose to not file any LC because he does not plan to become a PR. Thats fine because nothing is lost.
What i meant was, although H1 it is a dual intent visa, you dont necessarily show your intention until you apply for your green card process. There are cities that follow different tax structures when you apply for labor or not. Technically, that when you are showing your intention of immigrating. So why throw a blanket on entry date on H1, when some of them dont have the intention of immigrating to US permanently. This will only increase the demand of the GCs.

If a majority of members on IV are not in support of your idea, would you agree that its not fair to organize these kind of things on IV forum? I can imagine how hard it was for the people to bring this organization to this stage. While you haven't contributed much, you are trying to break it up for your own selfish reasons. God knows if you will really benefit anything out of this. How different are you from anti-immigrants who claim that immigrants are stealing American jobs?
