Hi,
I filed my EAD and AP renewal on Sept 17 (20 days) ago but still I haven't heard received neither receipt notice nor my check being cashed. Is there anything we can do to find out about the receipt notice? Fedex tracking shows the mail being already delivered. I am currently working on EAD and recently used AC21 to switch the company so EAD is very important to me.
Please provide your feedback and if anyone is having same delays in getting receipt notice for EAD / AP.

Hi Fellow forum users
I and my spouse both have primary/derivative through each other. However I only have EAD (dependent) through my spouse's principal AOS. Can I use that to change my job? I dont have time to apply for a principal EAD. Once I start the new job in dependent EAD can I apply for an EAD based on my primary AOS so that my new employer can drop a AC21 mail to USCIS? The reason I want to do this is to maintain my principal AOS as well.

Does the published cumulative demand data represent
a) all pending 485 cases that include primary applicants and their dependents
OR
b) all pending 485 cases that include primary applicants only?
If say, the demand data for EB3, till 2004 says 35,000 - does this mean there are a total of 35,000 pending cases in total OR does this represent primary applicants only?
If it represents primary applicants only, what is the multiplication factor we need to use to get an approximate number for total pending 485 cases?

I am in the process of changing employers and the new employer applied for the H-1B transfer on 4/11 at California Service Center (CSC). I haven't received my receipt number yet. Just wanted to find out how long it takes now a days to issue a receipt number because of the new H-1B rush during the first week of April.
If anyone has applied for H-1B transfer at CSC after April 1st, please update your status here to help others in the same boat.
Also, my start date is May 19th. Is it safe to join the new employer based on proof of delivery to USCIS instead of waiting for the receipt #.

There has been an error in the processing of my I-130 petition for my mother. It was approved and now I am being asked to submit form I-485 or form I-824. The problem is that my mother is not and has never been to the US. I called CIS and talked to a representative about the error. She said she would send a letter to the CIS about it and that I should hear back from CIS in 5 days. I am just wondering if this timeline is realistic or I should expect it to take more time. Should I contact my senator and ask for assistance in facilitating this process? Would hiring a lawyer expedite this process? I know that the petition should then go to the NVC. Would a lawyer help?

Below is my situation;
Last project ended July 17 and am out of project since then and my last pay check was for the week of July 17. I was sent a termination letter and my employer said that he will not revoke my H1B and told me to transfer my H1B ASAP. I have been trying to do a H transfer from then on but no company is willing to do since I don't have a project and every one told to find a project first.
Finally I found a project but now employers are not willing to do a transfer saying that I don't have pay stubs for almost two and half months. A few employers are suggesting to file a new H1B.
What would be the best course of actions in my situation.

I have got my EAD and want to do part time job as well as work on H1 for the employee who sponsored my GC, What is my status? I am still on H1 or AOS? I would be glad if someone can reply!
If you use your EAD (for part time or full time), you are on EAD and your H1B status is gone. It does not matter that you primary job is still on H1B.

I have my EB3 filed with PD=Apr-2006. I dont see anything happening for next 6-8 years, and hence, I am also applying for Canada's PR. Probably, 2 yrs from now, I would move into Canada on PR and stay there for 3 yrs for citizenship.
With this in mind, should I go ahead for CP or I-485?

If your petition has been physically "Mailed" to the Atlanta Service center . Do they give you a tracking number . Can such cases be viewed online on the website http://www.plc.doleta.gov ? How much time does the Atlanta service center take to acknowledge the reciept of such application ?

Please help me with this. i came to USA on L1B visa in 2005 with 1 year petition and got extension for 2 more years i.e till feb 2008 but went to india for good in June 2007.
Again we came back with new L1B petition in Oct 2007 and got 3 years visa i.e, till Oct 2010.
1) Now if company apply for extension on L1B how many years ext i'll get?
2) Now if Company B wants to file new H1B for me, how many years of visa i'll get.
i was never on H1 before this is my first time H1B.
Please help me with this as soon as possible.

When preparing docs to provide response for 221g form, I have filled DS-156 form at http://https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp. On click of Continue, it generated a PDF with randon bar code. Printed that online. And sent to docs to VFS Hyderabad officer.
I was told that bar code is wrong, I should fill up another DS-156 form. Are they looking for DS-156 submitted at the time of interview that has HDFC receipt number as bar code.
Please let me know if you have faced this problem earlier.
They have retained my wife passport asked to produce to copy of current visa of husband. Can I reply to this online.

I know for a fact that you cannot count current employer exp for GC. If i start working for the same employer on XYZ is it more than 50% different in role so i can count my 3 years experience when applying my GC ??
